David Hall Art Gallery and Cafe – Capturing the Essence of Fort Kochi

(To open the embedded Facebook posts fully for the recipes and details from David Hall,  just click on the date/time under the heading Food and Travel Secrets.)

Fort Kochi in Kerala is full of boutiques for browsing and cafes for coffee surrounded by heritage and local colour. The David Hall Art Gallery and Cafe is perfect for both fusion food and artful beauty. A legacy of the Dutch East India Company from the late 1600’s, this bungalow has been restored to it’s former glory by a partnership between CGH Earth and CMO a Netherlands cultural heritage organisation.

But for something special, head to CGH Earth’s David Hall Art Gallery and Cafe. As you enter, you relax! David Hall is all about the art! This not for profit CGH Earth venture is a project to support and promote local artists who can exhibit their works without cost and bring more art to the local community.

Lunch at David Hall Cafe

Tucked amongst the art is the garden cafe. Perfect for a light lunch of all day breakfast, the dishes are light, fresh and great value!

Behind the Scenes at David Hall Cafe

It was a great treat when Manager Mr Binu Koshy invited us back for lunch and offered to share the recipes from Chef Benedict’s kitchen!

This space for young artists to display their work is engaging and keeps you lingering long after you intended to move on. The cafe is inviting and attracts those looking for great pizza and fusion food. Laid back and casual, Koshy is a warm and welcoming host and can keep you up to date on the regular free events. There’s always someone setting up an exhibition and many conversations to be had. It’s just a great place to hang out. Don’t miss it as you stroll around the parade ground. It’s also just around the corner from Eighth Bastion Hotel.

Food and Travel Secrets was a guest of David Hall Art Gallery and Cafe but all opinions remain her own.
