Chittoor Kottaram – Palace Life for that Extra Special Experience!

(To open the embedded Facebook posts fully for the recipes and details, just click on the date/time under the heading Food and Travel Secrets.)

A Royal Arrival at Chittoor Kottaram Palace

If you are celebrating a special occasion, or want a grand finale to your South Indian itinerary then Chittoor Kottaram may be exactly what you’re looking for. CGH Earth’s best kept secret is a palace conveniently on the edge of Kochi, but it feels like another world – a world of royalty!

Shared with the Cochin Raja himself, who still owns the property, CGH Earth has partnered with Lady Helen Hamilyn who has adopted it as a heritage project and blessed it with her magic decorating touch. Chittoor Palace is filled with precious artworks sourced around India that surround you with beauty.

Travel one hour by boat from Brunton Boatyard and you will appreciate the tranquility of the waterside location.

From the moment you arrive you will experience the full royal treatment from Milton and his team.

A Sneak Peak Inside Chittoor Koodram Palace

But I was eager to explore the palace itself! There are two floors with three double bedrooms, each with it’s own magnificent bathroom.

The bedrooms open onto the verandahs and the central living areas.

But it’s the master bedroom upstairs that Lady Hamlyn uses herself when she visits that is truly amazing!

The palace grounds are lovely in themselves. The orginal pool has been restored and preserved.

Lunch at Chittoor Kottaram Palace

All meals are included and the team are there to cater to your royal wishes. Sarjitha is an absolutely wonderful cook. Her home-cooked food is some of the best I’ve ever tasted!

Lady Hamlyn has chosen some very beautiful tableware for herself and her guests at Chittoor Kottaram.

Chittoor Kottaram’s royal thali lunch is a wonderful feast for all the senses.

We only had time for lunch this visit, but I can only imagine what a treat it would be to stay at Chittoor Place! A fabulous way to mark a special date, or the end of a most wonderful holiday across South India.

My greatest thanks to Manoj who planned such a brilliant trip for us and to Milton, Sarjitha, Keshav, Ronald and Jithin who looked after us!
