Must Know Local Experience Tips for Visiting Kochi and Munnar

After enjoying Fort Kochi for a few days it’s lovely to take a trip to Munnar Hill Station. It’s a comfortable four hour trip by road and you’ll be rewarded by some spectacular scenery. It’s also an excellent way to have a local, relaxed Kerala experience when you connect with Stanley Wilson.

Stanley Wilson Tours

For a fabulous value trip to Munnar, do see Stanley Wilson on Princess Street Kochi to organize your 2 night, 3 day Green Magic Tour to the Kerala Tea country.  Best booked on-line before you go it’s a great price at around $US 45 per person per day including accommodation, breakfast and dinner, transport and sightseeing.

In fact, Stanley is your ‘go-to’ man in Kochi for all sorts of local knowledge, like where to shop or where to get shirts made.

Stanley’s safe and careful drivers have good cars with seatbelts and he also offers good value trips to the Kerala backwaters houseboat cruises.  You’ll find Stanley about half way down Princess Street in Fort Kochi, which is the street full of shops, cafes, accomodation and travel agencies.

Stanley’s wife Jasmin is a trained teacher and wonderful cook who gives lessons in their home Jasmin Villa where you can also stay to get a true local Kochi homestay experience with their family.

Green Magic Tour to Munnar

On the way to Munnar, do enjoy the stops at local towns, markets and plantations.

A local thali for lunch is a treat too.

The Green Magic Home is very comfortable and homely.

Perched on a cliffside, it has great views over the valley from its three floors with balconies.

Robin manages Green Magic Home and cooks delicious home cooked dinners by candlelight and breakfasts on the balcony. Ask to watch dinner prepared in the kitchen for a spontaneous cooking lesson!

The day trips to the tea factories and lookouts are a great way to see the local area.

But it’s also great just taking a walk around the neighbourhood of with a guide.

And do explore Munnar town…

..have a real chai…

…don’t miss the market

….and eat lunch at Saravana Bharvan.

Green Magic Home has five double rooms all with ensuite. Good for couples, families and groups. For more details do get in touch with Stanley.
